What is Swimmers Itch?

Swimmers itch is a dermatitis that develops on parts of the body that have been exposed to

lake water containing certain larval forms of flatworms.  Reddened spots, called papules, form

on the body within several hours after exposure and may itch intensely for several days.

One preventive measure that has worked for some is to apply a lotion called Bug & Sun prior

to swimming in the lake.  Let this absorb for approximately 20 minutes before swimming.

case of swimmers itch.  This information is essential in efforts to secure funding

that will help find a solution to this problem.
