Members Present: Kim Baker, Bill Dale, Dave Knapper, Tammy Knapper, Erik Pentz, Glen Simons, Dan Tepfer, Norman Westby

 

Members Absent:  Gary Hanson, Marly Tebben

 

Call to Order:  President Norm Westby at 7:10 P. M.

 

Secretary’s Report:  Motion by Bill to approve September’s secretary’s report, with corrections.  Seconded by Dave. 

 

Treasurer’s Report: Income from member dues. Expenses were for water testing and PO Box. A bill just arrived for the insurance and it will be paid in October.  Newsletter billing will be coming also.  Motion by Erik to approve treasure’s report. Seconded by Bill.

Committee Reports:

A.    Water Quality –

1.      Last sampling was on Sept 15.  Water is still coming in on Middle 26 and Halverson.  Total Phosphorus average for the year was 33 (last year was 52).  Chlorophyll A average was 6 (last year 8).  Water shed was sampled 3 times and none were rain events.  SWAG grants are available to apply for through Hawk Creek.  It would cost about $1000 to hire someone to monitor our 3 sites.  Glen will fill out the SWAG grant and bring it to next month’s meeting. 

B.     Events –

1        Leaf Pick Up – October 24 Gather at access at 8:00, if you can help.  Dave, Dan, Norm will have trailers for sure.  Breakfast at Knapper’s afterward.

C.     Membership – Currently at 171 members.  Don’t know new owners at Jerry Phillips place.  Dan will update the spreadsheet on Excel for membership.

D.    Newsletter –

1. Annual billing will be sent in December along with the annual meeting notice.  Newsletter – 45 sent via email, 247 mailed.  We sent newsletter to Print Masters on Monday via email and it was the mailboxes on Thursday.  Great turnaround time.

Old Business:

A.    Eagle Lake T-Shirts – Dan called MN Screen Print and they didn’t get back to him.  Discussion about having a different color shirt for next year.  Can still order for this year, if we want.

 New Business:

A.     Welcome boat – No new owners that we are aware of.

B.     Water level signatures – It is difficult to change the level of the outlet, as it has been set by the DNR.  The outlet is showing signs of stress in the concrete.

C.     Directory – Discussion as to when to do the next one.  Cost was discussed.  Discussion to sell ads like last time and it paid for itself.  It needs to be printed both by address (as you go around the lake would be nice to use from the lake side) and alphabetical by last name.
