Board Meeting – 7:00 PM

Members Present:  Bill Dale, Dave Knapper, Tammy Knapper, Erik Pentz, Dan Tepfer, Norm Westby, Steve Kuchta, Kim Baker

 

Members Absent:  Glen Simons, Chuck Walsh, Marlyn Tebben

 

Call to Order:            President Erik Pentz at 7:03 pm.

 

Secretary’s Report:  Motion by Dave to accept April secretary’s report.  Second by Bill.  Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Reviewed April 2010 income of  $300.00 and expense of $105.67 with a net income of $194.33.  Checking account balance is $3805.00 and savings account balance is $5213.00.  Motion by Dave to accept treasurer’s report.  Second by Tammy.  Motion carried. 

 

Committee Reports:

A.    Water Quality –

                        1.   Dave reported for Glen.  Last testing indicates a high chlorophyll level in the lake.  In the last few days we have experienced a green algae bloom and then it cleared and then had a blue-green algae bloom for a few days.  The blue green had moved toward the southwest outlet and should exit the lake.

            B.   Events

1.    Garage sale – Set for May 15 to coincide with fishing opener weekend.  Dave has an ad in WC Tribune.  Weather is supposed to be 70 and sunny.   

2.          June Social – Set for June 9 at Knapper home.  Plates, napkins and silverware are set. 

3.          Boat Parade - Glen has 6 bags with 475 individual pieces of candy each inside for the July 4 parade giveaway.  We will package them after the social in June.  Suggested we spend $100.00 total for 3 prizes for Patriotic, Creative and Children theme winners.  Coolers for adults with items inside. 

C.  Membership  

1.      Web site is current with listing of 2 years paid dues members.

 

Old Business:

A.     Eagle Lake T-shirts – T-shirts are yet to be ordered.  Colors are being considered.

B.     KLCA  is purchasing sign for us to put up at  the southeast access.

 

 

C.    KCLA invasive species program  – Week of May 24 the Dick Sternberg presentation on invasive species will be on local channels 18 and 19 for viewing by the public.  On June 11 there will be training for volunteers at the Detleff Center in Spicer.  23 volunteers including Dave took the early training in May.

D.    2010 directory – Went through the list of advertisers in the old directory and assigned members of the board to contact them.  Also identified potential new advertisers and assigned them for contact by board members.   We should have the advertisers for the new directory on board by the end of June.

 

New Business:

A.    New orders - Dan will ask about cost for caps with Eagle Lake insignia.

B.     New orders - Dan will ask about cost for Eagle Lake flags of different sizes

C.    Outlet -  The board will meet at the southwest outlet at 6:00 pm to do a cleanup of downed branches and tree limbs before the June 2 meeting.

D.    Welcome Boat -  No new residents to report.

E.     Mailing for dues notice -  We will stuff dues statement envelopes after the June 2 meeting.  The mailing will be sent to lake residents who have not paid dues yet.  We will also stuff a Zebra Muscle brochure in the envelope.

F.  Nest Lake -  Noted that Nest Lake Association has purchased a new weed removing machine and they intend to hire 2 individuals to run it
