Board Meeting – 7:00PM

Members Present: Kim Baker, Bill Dale, Gary Hanson, Dave Knapper, Tammy Knapper, Erik Pentz, Glen Simons, Marly Tebben, Dan Tepfer, Norman Westby

Members Absent: none

 

Call to Order:  President Norm Westby at 7:08 P. M.

 

Glen reported talking to Dick Thynes and he will need to resign his position on the Eagle Lake board.  Resignation unanimously accepted.

 

Secretary’s Report:  Motion by Dave to approve February secretary’s report.  Seconded by Bill.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Dave to approve verbal treasurer’s report.  Seconded by Erik.  Deposited $120 for Feb.  Earned $5 in interest in Feb.

 

Committee Reports:

A.    Water Quality –

1        Glen has the equipment needed and can order more.  He said we should try to sample early this year and try to do 2 samples per month.  If 40% of our samples are rain events, that would be good.  After the winter thaw would be a good time to sample.

B.     Events –

1        May 9 Garage Sale – Ad in Tribune

2        June 10 Social (Potluck) – At Knapper’s

 

C. Membership – 

1        Bring new lake owners names to meetings as new residents move on.  Gary will help Dan monitor new residents on the lake.

D.    Newsletter –

1        Discussed rough draft.

·         Page 1 – Website – do in bullets, not paragraph

·         Page 2 – Water quality report with Q & A from annual meeting

·         Page 3 – boating rules, fishing rules, ice off dates, EL directory, new neighbors, Welcome boat visits, recycling dates

 

Old Business:

A.    Review Winter Ice Fishing Activity/Clean up – Fishing was not as good this year, so not near the amount of traffic as last year.  There is some trash on the ice, but not too bad…mostly cans and lumber.

B.     Review meeting dates and locations – All are fine.  Gary Hanson will host on Wed. June 3.

 New Business:

A.     Welcome Boat Contacts – Need to get new Residents packet updated and given to the committee.  Wachler’s need to be contacted.

B.     Eagle Lake Apparel – Dan Tepfer didn’t talk with MN Screen Print yet.  He will for next meeting.  He will check on pricing for T-shirts, Hats, and Flags.  Ideas included “Can’t wait to get back to the Lake” on the back of the shirts.
