Annual Board Meeting 7:00

Members Present: Bill Dale, Dave Knapper, Tammy Knapper, Glen Simons, Beth Tepfer, Dan Tepfer, Norman Westby
Members Absent: Kim Baker, Darwin Madden, Dick Thynes
Supper was served to 77 people.
Call to Order: President Dave Knapper at 7:45 P. M.
Welcome: Special Guests – Carol Schmeissing, Kandiyohi Co Recycling
New members – Duane Forkrude’s and Rod Engleson (Bev Knight)
Acknowledged Welcome Boat Ladies – Melissa Carlson and Barb Borth
Introduction of Current Board members: Bill, Dave, Tammy, Glen, Beth, Dan, Norm and not in attendance, but on the board, Kim, Darwin and Dick. There is one open position on the board. No nominations, but Doug Dodge is possibly interested. Dave Zane motioned the approval of the 2008 Board of directors. Walt Gislason seconded. Motion carried.
Review of 2007 events: Tammy recapped events of the year.
Membership: 2006 - 179 out of 283 – 63% membership
2007 – 170 out of 283 – 60% membership
Water Quality (Glen):
Reviewed
monitoring site with photos. We
have monitored sites consistently since 2000.
Glen reviewed lake definitions for Total Phosphorus, Ortho Phosphorus,
Secchi disk, Chlorophyll A, and Dissolved Oxygen. Secchi disk results from
2007 was 6.9 feet (12 is high and 4 is low). Phosphorous was a little lower this year, but
missed one reading. Chlorophyll A was 15 (average).
Recycling (Carol Schmeissing):
She reviewed the importance of recycling to
save space, resources and energy. She
referenced an article in National Geographic on the importance of
recycling. Our county only recycles
plastic #1 and 2 bottles. Recycle as
much as you can to save the environment.
Bill Dale:

will start a recycling pick up service around

reviewed links on the site and encouraged member to look at it.

Jim Loehr –
Thanked Committee for nice job they do.
2.
Ron Carlson – Suggested a late Winter Clean up by
using flatbed trailers to pick up trash left by fisherman on the ice.
3.
Suggestion for the newsletter – Keep dogs on
leashes or on property, so others don’t have to clean up after them.
4.
Walt Gisalson – asked about the removal of
carp. It hasn’t been done recently.
5.
Joan Macik – Restate the mess ice fisherman leave
and how it floats in to our beaches in the spring. Suggested the clean up before ice out and a
sign at the boat landing.
6.
Harry Fenstra – Suggestion for History Link on website
– Interview older residents on the lake and write up. (Garnet Bokelman, Ted
& Audrey Husisinga)
7.
Audrey Loehr – Thanked those who looked to the
future and installed the sewer system around the lake years ago.
8.
Suggestions for walkers around the lake – wear
reflective clothing and walk facing traffic, especially in the early
mornings.
Reminder:
Talk to you neighbors and ask them to join the
association, if they are not already members.

are walking the NE corner of the lake.
