Call to Order:  President Norm Westby at 7:00 pm.

February 08, 2010  Monthly Board Meeting

Call to Order:  President Erik Pentz at 7:25 pm.

 

Secretary’s Report:  Motion to approve January report by Bill.  Seconded by Dave.  Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Summary of 2009 financials included total income of $6515 and total expense of $6813 for a net loss of $298 for year-end 2009.  Total monies on hand at year-end 2009 in checking and money market is $8684.  Motion to approve report by Dave.  Second by Bill.  Motion carried.

 

The budget for 2010 was set with projected income of $6560 and expense of $6380.  Motion by Bill to approve 2010 budget.  Second by Marly.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

Committee Reports:

A.    Water Quality –

1        With high water levels last fall and deep snow cover this winter we look forward to going into spring with higher water than normal starting out to see the effect on water quality in coming season.

B.     Events –

1        Annual Meeting  – 74 attended.  Went well.  Dave will reserve Spicer Legion for annual meeting on Friday, Jan 11, 2011.  He may explore other locations and get a price for the meal.

C.  Membership – 

1        At each board meeting, we will try to update who is new on the lake and get those names to our Welcome Boat Committee.  New residents to lake recognized at annual meeting include Steve Hunt’s, Chuck Walsh, Ben Lohre’s.

D.    Newsletter –

1        Bring a working copy in March to look over.  Will be sent after April meeting.

            E.  Website –  
                        1.  Glen will look into adding a link to the website with a paid member                                                report to be reviewed by board.
                       

Old Business:

A.    Welcome Boat – The board will furnish names to our committee members so they can contact prospective new members.  New resident packets need to be updated. 

 New Business:

            A.  Invasive species review -  Meetings have been held on Jan 28 and Feb 4 to consider actions necessary to deter zebra muscle infestations in area lakes.  Glen attended Feb 4.   Action should come in the form of education “to inspect” with a united effort between Kandiyohi County commissioners, DNR and the Kandiyohi Area Lakes Association.

C.  Eagle Lake Apparel – Need to inventory existing supply.  Put in a new order with different colors for 2010.  Need children sizes this year.  Dan Tepfer will check with MN Screen Print on pricing and availability. 

 

D.  New Membership Directory –  Start work on new book to be available this summer.  Sell advertising to help pay the cost of production.  Deanna Dorsey has volunteered to help.
